“The child making use of all that he finds around him, shapes himself for the future.” ~Maria Montessori
The final year of the Montessori 3-6 Year Cycle is Kindergarten. In Montessori, this “Year of Fruition” is most likely one of the most important as well as dramatic in terms of witnessing a “learning explosion.”
It is the year when all of the concepts learned, practiced, and mastered come together in the child’s mind. In addition to valuable leadership roles, the Montessori Kindergarten student acquires academic abilities at an accelerated rate as concepts that were once abstract become more concrete. Our Kindergarten Program complements the typical Preschool Program by giving clarity to each subject area, including Math, Reading, Writing, Geography, History, Social Studies, Natural and General Sciences, Foreign Languages, and more.
Depending on a student’s interest, natural intellect, and motivation, he or she may graduate from the Montessori 3–6 year classroom with the equivalent of a traditional school 2nd grade level learning in reading/writing or math, or both. Our program more than meets the minimum FL state standards for Kindergarten level learning, and our students very often far exceed the traditional expectations! Most importantly, students who graduate from our Primary Program have the immense pride and satisfaction in completing the Three Year Cycle and have created a solid foundation upon which they can successfully pursue their own learning for years to come!
To help our parents better understand the “Year of Fruition” and the curriculum available to our students during this transformative year, we annually hold a “Kindergarten Open House” for all parents of students entering Pre-K and Kindergarten for the following academic year.
